Will kit

When you take out Funeral Insurance or Life Insurance with Insuranceline and you’ll also get a free will kit.

Take out Funeral Insurance or Life Insurance with Insuranceline and you’ll also get a free will kit. It's another way we help you take control of your future and take care of those you love.

A will helps give you a final say on how you want your family to be taken care of when you die. Our free will kit will help you:

  • Find out what you need to know about drawing up a will, with easy-to-understand instructions and sample wills to compare.
  • Use the forms in the will kit to complete your will, leave it somewhere your executor can find it—and you’re done.
  • Be confident, knowing that your wishes for sharing your assets and insurance benefits are clear.

Why do I need a will?

If you're over 18, a will is undoubtedly one of the most important things you can put in place to help ensure both the financial and emotional security of your family if you were to pass away.

Your will isn’t just about sharing out your assets, although that is an important part. It’s about who you appoint to look after your estate. If you have children, it’s about who should care for them if you’re no longer there. You can also make your wishes clear about how their inheritance should be managed, if they’re not old enough to look after it themselves.

Your will can also let you set out what happens to you when you die. For example, if you want to be cremated rather than buried, you can include that in your will so that your wishes are clear. Of course, if your financial affairs or family situation are particularly complicated, you may also need to talk to a legal or tax professional to ensure your Will is sound.

The information provided on this website is general advice only which means it does not take into account your individual needs, objectives or financial situation. For this reason, you should consider whether it is appropriate for you, and before you decide to buy or to continue to hold an insurance product, you must read the relevant Combined Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and the Financial Services Guide (FSG). The PDS/FSG contains important information which will help you understand the product, including what's covered and what's not covered and to decide whether it is appropriate for you. The Target Market Determination (TMD) for the relevant product, where applicable, is also available.

If you are considering cancelling a policy you already hold in order to replace it with a new policy, make sure you read the terms and conditions of both policies before you make a decision. The cover terms may be different, you may lose benefits accrued under your existing policy, and waiting periods may apply to the new policy. Changes in your personal circumstances (such as your age, health, and employment) that have occurred since your existing policy was originally taken out may also affect your new policy. As your application for a new policy may not be accepted, and some policies may be unable to be reinstated after they have been cancelled, you should consider waiting until your new policy is confirmed before you cancel any existing cover.
